How listings are checked

Every business submitted through the Submit a Business form is saved as Pending. Pending listings are not shown anywhere on the website. A member of the TradeNest team reviews each one, usually within two working days.

What we look for

• The business is real and based in, or regularly working across, Leeds, York or Harrogate.
• The category and services match what the business actually does.
• The description is clear, honest and written for customers (no keyword lists or misleading claims).
• Photos show the business or its own work.
• The person submitting the listing is allowed to list the business.

Approval or rejection

If the listing meets this policy we approve it: it is published and appears in search, the directory and its category. If it does not, we reject it and it stays hidden. We email the person who submitted it either way.

Editing or removing a listing

To update or remove a listing, send us a message through the contact page from the business email address. We may unpublish a listing at any time if it no longer meets this policy, for example after repeated complaints.

Enquiries

Customer enquiries are sent through TradeNest with the business name and reference attached. We never publish business email addresses.

No paid placement

Listing on TradeNest is free. Featured businesses on the homepage are chosen by our team to show a mix of trades and towns; they cannot be bought.
